Ashton Freeman is an MFA candidate in Fiction at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In 2025 they were nominated for the 2025 PEN/Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers. They have received support from Tin House and their work has appeared or is forthcoming in Passages North, manywor(l)ds, Foglifter, Milk Press, and Screen Door Review.
